African drumming, art and craft Perth

2016 marked the 20th anniversary of Akwaaba!  What a fantastic journey it's been so far, being able to bring the culture and music of West Africa to the West Australian community.  We would like to thank everybody who has supported us over the years including those who have performed with us, attended one of our regular drumming workshops, invited us to perform or run workshops, or purchased products through our shop.

Akwaaba were part of this event in April 2015 and were lucky enough to have the opportunity to help promote it live on Channel 9's Today Show.

Celebration of African-Australians

On Saturday 20 December 2014 Paul was very honoured to receive this Pioneer Award 2014 from the Celebration of African-Australians Inc.

Thank you for providing such a fun, motivating and enjoyable session for our staff and students. After each session the kids were buzzing and I heard so many positive comments! “That was the best day of my whole year!” “Can we do that every day?!”
